The Microsoft Windows search service integrated into Windows 10 is having problems. There is not yet a word about the cause or ETA for a solution.
On February 5, many Windows 10 users were unable to use the Windows search service built into the operating system. When users click on the search box in the operating system, a blank gray or black area appears.
Some report that when they undock Bing from search results, they can see Windows search results again.
I am using Windows 10 1909 and I find the empty box. Bing.com is not for me. I have tried several solutions suggested by Microsoft to find problems in the Windows search, but so far I have not had luck.

Update (1:00 p.m. ET): A Microsoft spokesman says that the problem should now be resolved for the most part. You must restart your PC at least once. In my case, the third restart was the stimulus. I don’t know what caused the problem or how Microsoft wants to avoid it in the future.
