It has increased our health, reduced our anxiety, boosted our productivity, and minimized time we spend getting ready. It’s “beauty sleep.” You already know that beauty sleep is important — when you’re well-rested, your skin won’t crack and you’ll show up to work looking fresh and fabulous. But did you know:
* Beauty sleep can be an effective treatment for depression?
* A lack of restorative “beauty” sleep can even cause eye bags?
* Sleep deprivation — not drinking alcohol — is the number one killer of women aged 15-34?
These are just a few of the surprising benefits to indulging in beauty sleep on regular basis. If you’re one of the many people who don’t get enough beauty sleep, you’re missing out on a lot!
Traditional beauty sleep wisdom tells us to get at least 8 hours of straight sleep every night or risk looking like hell by Monday morning. While this makes sense for the average person, there are a lot of successful business women who don’t get nearly enough “beauty sleep” and manage to look great every day. In fact, there are celebs in Hollywood who brag about getting as little as 4 hours of sleep every night because they have so much going on!
The bottom line is: how much beauty sleep you need can vary from person to person. You don’t need to follow the traditional beauty sleep advice to look great, but you should certainly aim to get enough rest and get some “beauty sleep” every night.
If you’re struggling to get enough beauty sleep, do this one small thing every night: put your alarm on a timer. Set it for 20 minutes less than your usual time, so that it sounds at least 15 minutes before your usual wake up time. That way you can still be alert when it goes off, but can still feel the wonderful effects of a good night’s rest.

But there are a lot of ways that treating anxiety can be beneficial for both your body and your mind.
