COVID-19 DEATHS LEAP; UK IS READY TO USE CONTACT TRACING APP

The UK has witnessed the daily death toll from Covid-19, and this toll is massive in the number- 500 lives!

It is alarming, but if reports to be believed, the Oxford University team has found that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is letting the pandemic to spread as quickly as possible. That requires to be controlled with a manual, interview-based contact tracing technique, so an automated digital approach is needed.

Researchers have suggested that a mobile app creates a temporary record of infected people, and alert those, who came in their contact. Further, they can be asked to self-isolate so the virus spread can be stopped.

Indeed a mobile app here works in the favor of people, and cuts the contact, to stop the community spread of the virus.

What more app can do?

With the help of an app, a full-stop can be put on the epidemic and send it into reverse, maintaining long-term control. It is expected that The NHS’ digital division NHSX, will be looking into the possibilities of it, and will try to roll it out within weeks only.

A mobile app for COVID-19 tracking

Yes, this sort of app already been developed by many different countries, and they have been able to control it at their end. However, the Oxford team’s modeling is the first to identify the possible impact on the coronavirus spread.

Earlier China and South Korea, have come up with the apps for Coronavirus, which had an impact on SARS-CoV-2 spread, but these apps had some issues related to data protection and privacy.

And the privacy issue is going to be resolved with the UK app. It is expected that the proposed app would actually track people less than map software that is already running on most people’s phones.

“It does require large-scale adoption and acceptance that a degree of data-sharing between individuals – in the context of the NHS – could result in large reductions in infection,” he told the BBC’s Today program this morning.

“What it’s trying to do is to make sure that only people at greatest risk are self-isolating, and allow a greater degree of freedom for other people to resume activities.”

Considering the features of other apps, the proposed app would be used in combination with other measures to help countries in this crisis.

What’s the concern?

Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 worldwide, it has there has been a glitch faced across the world in the supply of protection equipment for medical workers. But this dilemma doesn’t stop here, but there is also a terror of not diagnosing infections. For this UK govt has received major flak since there are reports which suggest there are about 2,000 out of half a million frontline NHS staff, who have been tested.

As per the UK government, there are only 13,000 tests available each day against a target of 25,000.

On the other hand, Prime Minister Boris Johnson is also tested positive, keeping the morale of people low.

With this hope that there will be better results and slow in the Coronavirus outbreak, and this app will sustain the growth of the virus, We at Techugo- a leading app development company in the UK, will ensure to keep you posted about every single tech-news coming to your way.
