Opinion: the grass is not always greener
Windows 7 reached the end of his life eleven years after his debut. The traditional operating system no longer receives security updates from Microsoft (unless something really dangerous has been found in Windows XP in 2017). So it’s time to say goodbye to Windows 10 and update.
It can be easy to annoy someone who still uses such an old operating system, but if you (or a family member) still use Windows 7 for daily work with computers, you must respect that.
Not only is it a frugal option, because sticking to an older kit minimizes waste and there is less demand for materials such as cobalt (used in batteries), which is rare and often undermines in horrible conditions.
As the demand for technologies developed in an ethical and sustainable manner increases (and companies like Fairphone are taking a step in the right direction), this is the best option to use all devices for as long as possible.
Do not lose …
Your Windows 7 device has evolved happily for at least seven years (Windows 8 came out in 2012, but it was so unpopular among users that many retailers continued to offer Windows 7 as an option until Windows 8.1 started in 2013) and Es is admirable for resisting The temptation to shine new material for so long.
There is constant pressure to update your hardware. Advertisers try to convince you that something is missing. However, if you are not interested in video game or game editing, you do not need 128 GB of RAM or Core i9 processor tasks for everyday life. Google Chrome may be a memory consumer, but it’s not that bad.

The good news is that you do not need to buy a new PC or laptop if you are satisfied with the current one. Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10 is simple and will not cost you a penny.
I could even get a speed increase. Windows 10 is optimized to run smoothly even on low power devices. For this reason, Microsoft has abandoned the Windows 7 Aero Glass user interface. These translucent and diffuse toolbars used resources that could be better used elsewhere. Don’t worry if you lose the aerodynamic look: you can easily rethink Windows 10 with free software and some simple settings.
Either way, a great job to make your team last so long. We hope you can be more productive with Windows 10 for many years.
